My academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Education and a Masters of Education (all from the University of Sydney) and a Masters of Mental Health (MHSc Therapies) from the University of Queensland. My post-graduate clinical training in Family Therapy was provided in the Dept of Psychological Medicine, Austin Hospital, Melbourne. I am a Clinical Member and Accredited Supervisor of the Australian Association of Family Therapy. I am registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
In 2016, I was granted the ANZJFT Award for Distinguished Contributions to Australian Family Therapy.
Family Therapy and Counselling Practice
I have provided family therapy and counselling services in the inner Western suburbs of Brisbane since 1996. I work from offices in Toowong and Indooroopilly. No referral is required to book an appointment.
Professional Supervision, Consultancy and Training
I provide professional supervision for other clinicians. Individual and group supervision sessions are available. Individual sessions may be face to face or telehealth.
I also provide training and ongoing professional supervision to a range of government and non-government agencies. These have included Dept of Health (AMHS, CYMHS and Evolve Therapeutic Services), Dept of Communities, Dept of Disability Services, Kinections, Benevolent Society Post Adoption Services Qld and Jigsaw Post Adoption Services.
I currently lecture in the Master of Counselling program at the Queensland University of Technology and supervise students undertaking the Master of Mental Health at the University of Queensland. In addition, from 1999 to 2012, in parallel with working in my private practice, I held a lectureship in the School of Medicine (Psychiatry Discipline), University of Queensland, where I taught in postgraduate psychotherapy programs and co-ordinated the family therapy stream in the Master of Mental Health.
